Concept Map

Concept maps are a great way for students to organize their thinking. These maps include those typical organizational maps that teachers use, but go beyond them by adding connecting phrases. These connecting phrases that link the two important pieces of information (for example, the link between the main idea and a supporting idea) offers a more specific way to organize ideas. My concept map was created for my 3rd grade writing class. I wanted to create a map that would help them organize their thoughts prior to writing a paper.
